Senior Minister: Tom Murdock

Tom Murdock was born in Pensacola, Florida and has been living in Tennessee since 1990. A graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Tom came to the Disciples through several years of searching and prayer. Experiencing Communion or (The Lord's Supper) on a weekly basis gave new meaning to worship, as a seminary professor had once commented about the first communion between Jesus and Disciples, "How could they ever smell or taste bread and wine and not remember Jesus?"

Tom has served Disciple of Christ congregations in Shelbyville, Union City, and now in Tullahoma. Tom is currently serving as the President of the Tullahoma Ministerial Alliance and the Chair of the Commission on the Ministry for the Christian Church in Tennessee. He is married to Dr. Angie Murdock, an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Middle Tennessee State University. Tom and Angie share their home with their two cats. Tom Murdock has been the Senior Minister at First Christian Church, Tullahoma since June 2005.

Associate Minister: Amy Cates

Rev. Amy Cates was called as the Associate Minister of First Christian Church in the spring of 2007. Besides working with those at FCC, Amy serves on the Disciples Youth Ministry Commission and Disciples Farm Worker Ministry and is a member of the Bethany Fellowship program. Before coming to First Christian Church in Tullahoma, Amy served in Disciples congregations in Kentucky, Tennessee, and most recently at National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri.

In May 2005, Amy graduated from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee with her Master of Divinity degree. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Before entering into full-time congregational ministry, Amy was an elementary school teacher. Amy is a native of Henderson, Kentucky and was ordained at her home congregation of Henderson First Christian Church in May 2005.
